Episode Title: The Transformative Power of Prayer — 2025 Retreat Recap
Hosts: Rev. Michele Owes & Rev. Diana P. Cherry
Introduction
Welcome back to The Teachable Woman Podcast! In this powerful and uplifting episode, Reverends Michele Owes and Diana P. Cherry take us inside the 2025 Teachable Woman Retreat, where the theme was “The Transformative Power of Prayer.” This heartfelt recap invites listeners to reflect on how true transformation begins within—and how prayer, when aligned with the will and character of God, can change lives, families, and even nations.
Show Notes
1. A Transformative Gathering (00:00 – 02:10)
The hosts recount the spirit-filled atmosphere of the retreat, where women gathered to understand how prayer transforms first the individual, then relationships, and finally circumstances. Rev. Cherry reminds us that true transformation begins with a heart willing to change.
2. Prayer That Moves Heaven (02:11 – 04:30)
Rev. Michele teaches on effectual fervent prayer from James 5:16, emphasizing that not all prayers are effective. Prayers aligned with God’s heart and His righteousness have true power to move heaven and change the earth.
3. From the Gates to the House (04:31 – 06:00)
Using Psalm 100, the hosts illustrate the difference between being near God and truly dwelling with Him. It’s not enough to be in the courts or by the gates—we must seek to live in His house and dwell in His presence through reverent, authentic prayer.
4. Practical Workshops & Spirit-led Prayers (06:01 – 08:30)
The retreat included hands-on workshops where attendees wrote prayers based on the fruits of the Spirit. These sessions deepened understanding of praying in accordance with God’s character—whether or not we know every Scripture, we can always align with His nature.
5. 37 Seconds of Power (19:22 – 23:00)
A highlight of the retreat was the reading of Matthew 6:9–13—the Lord’s Prayer—in just 37 seconds. Rev. Michele powerfully demonstrates that we all have time to pray, and that even short, sincere prayers can carry the full weight of God’s will.
6. Aligning with God’s Will (10:00 – 18:46)
Rev. Diana offers a strong word on the danger of self-centered prayers. Instead of demanding outcomes, we must seek God's will. Prayer is not about naming and claiming—it’s about humbling ourselves, seeking His face, and accepting His perfect plan.
7. Living Prayer Boldly (24:00 – 27:41)
In closing, the hosts encourage listeners to be bold in prayer—pray immediately when prompted, keep a prayer list, and trust God to do His will. Rev. Michele compares the retreat’s impact to “dew from heaven”—gentle, refreshing, and transformative.
Summary
This episode beautifully captures the spirit of the 2025 Teachable Woman Retreat. Through wisdom, testimonies, and laughter, Rev. Michele and Rev. Diana remind us that prayer is not a performance—it is an invitation to relationship and transformation. Whether it’s 37 seconds or an hour, prayer that aligns with God’s will changes everything. From practical workshops to soul-stirring teaching, this episode is a call to go deeper, pray better, and live bolder in faith.

00:00:01 Rev. Michele Owes:
Welcome, welcome. Welcome back to the Teachable Woman Podcast. We are some kind of excited to be with you today. I am Reverend Michele Owes and I have with me Reverend Diana P. Cherry, and together we are Teachers of Good Things.
00:00:21 Rev. Michele Owes:
Mrs. Cherry, greet our podcast family.
00:00:23 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Greetings and the Matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Reverend Owes and I are fired up, ready to go because we have been transformed by the transformative power of prayer that have we learned. Yes, on the retreat.
00:00:41 Rev. Michele Owes:
Amen. We had a wonderful time at the 2025 teachable woman retreat, and today you're going to get a treat because we're going to do a recap of some of the wonderful things that occurred while we were there.
00:00:58 Rev. Michele Owes:
As you know, the title of our retreat this year was the transformative power of prayer.
00:01:06 Rev. Michele Owes:
And in the process of learning about prayer, we learned that when we pray, the kinds of prayer that God wants to hear from us, the effectuate, the effectual fervent.
00:01:20 Rev. Michele Owes:
The prayer of the righteous avail much, which means that there are some ineffective prayers that we can pray that don't avail anything and we wanted to make sure that our retreat participants every time they open their mouths to call upon the father, that it was a prayer that was effectual and one that God.
00:01:42 Rev. Michele Owes:
Could and would answer. And so we learned that in the transformative power of prayer, the first thing that God does is transform us in the situation.
00:01:54 Rev. Michele Owes:
And we found that oftentimes we pray prayers and we're praying for God to fix everybody else and do something with everybody else. When God first wants to do a work in US and then he transforms our relationships.
00:02:10 Rev. Michele Owes:
And then finally, he transforms the situation and he does all of that through prayer.
00:02:16 Rev. Michele Owes:
Listen.
00:02:16 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Cherry share with us? Well, you know, the only person that can transform us is God.
00:02:28 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And we have, we have a heart. We have to have a heart that we desire to be changed.
00:02:34 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But the only only way that we're going to be changed is through the transformative power of prayer. And it has to begin in us. If we don't allow God to do a work in us, then we should not expect us to be able to have an effect on others.
00:02:54 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
As I often say.
00:02:56 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
We can only change ourselves, can't change anybody else. But by changing ourselves because of the transformative power of prayer, when we are changed, as I often say, we can effect a change in other people can't change them, but we can effect a change in other people.
00:03:17 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And because of the transformative power of prayer, you know, I shared this at the retreat. We can love everyone. We can forgive everyone, and we can.
00:03:31 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Allow the spirit of God to change us, and by changing us we can effect a change in others.
00:03:43 Rev. Michele Owes:
That is so correct. You know, we also learned out of Psalm 100 that we enter into his gates with Thanksgiving.
00:03:53 Rev. Michele Owes:
Living.
00:03:54 Rev. Michele Owes:
And into his courts with praise. So we need to be thankful when we go into prayer. And we also should be in a position or of the mind to praise the Lord for who he is. But we recognize that when you're in the courts.
00:04:13 Rev. Michele Owes:
You're still outside, and when you're inside the gates, you're still outside.
00:04:17 Rev. Michele Owes:
Not.
00:04:18 Rev. Michele Owes:
We want to be in the House, we want to pray. The type of prayers that right that go right to the heart of God and we want to dwell in the secret place of the Almighty. We don't want to be hanging out in the courts and hanging out by the gates. It is OK, it is wonderful. But, you know, we found that.
00:04:39 Rev. Michele Owes:
Some of the time in our Christian life that we thought we were in the House with the Lord, we've really just been out in the.
00:04:45 Rev. Michele Owes:
Y'all, we've been hanging out around the gates and we're not in the place that we really desire to be with the Lord. And so we found that in order to do that, we had to get some things right. And as you mentioned, first, our heart has to be right. We have to recognize who we're praying to.
00:05:06 Rev. Michele Owes:
That he is an almighty. He's an all knowing he's an all powerful.
00:05:14 Rev. Michele Owes:
God and he's our creator and sustainer, and we can't go to him like he's bubble across the street. You know, we can't respond to him casually, like, you know, like we don't understand the majesty of.
00:05:32 Rev. Michele Owes:
Who he is.
00:05:34 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
That's so true. That is so true, and the teachings were very connected.
00:05:41 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And very informative and I had someone who I happen to know is a prayer warrior a part of an an accessory prayer ministry. And that person said to me I needed this. I've become kind of ritualistic and you know.
00:06:01 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
I I needed this. This really inspired me and boosted me and gave me some impetus that I needed in my own prayer life. And that's one of our ancestors.
00:06:11 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
So.
00:06:12 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
I have received a lot of testimonies from women who say that, you know, the retreat was a huge blessing to them and they they learned a lot and they intend to increase their prayer life and they tend to spend more quality time praying.
00:06:29 Rev. Michele Owes:
So.
00:06:30 Rev. Michele Owes:
Amen. Amen. Yes, I think one of the great blessings in this retreat was that we added workshops. And so after the teachings, the women had practical things to do.
00:06:48 Rev. Michele Owes:
In order to apply what they were learning and the goal was that nothing would fall to the ground that they would not be able to drop a thing, a single thing that they learned because they had to use it immediately and we put them in teams and the teams were the tables were the fruit of God's spirit and they had to.
00:07:08 Rev. Michele Owes:
Solve problems and then write prayers that were in alignment with the fruit of the spirit and they were at a different table every time so that they could understand that when we pray, we should pray in accordance with God's.
00:07:22 Rev. Michele Owes:
Character we may not know every scripture, every chapter and every verse, but if we pray in alignment with the character of God, we should be able to reach the heart of God in the things that we say to him and request. Then I think another key point for me was to know that.
00:07:43 Rev. Michele Owes:
When God gave man dominion over the earth.
00:07:47 Rev. Michele Owes:
In order to intervene in our affairs, we needed to give him permission.
00:07:53 Rev. Michele Owes:
To intervene not to boss God, around, not to tell him what to do, but to give him the authority to act in the earthly realm on our behalf. And so we began to give God permission to act, not only in our personal lives.
00:08:13 Rev. Michele Owes:
But also in the lives of our families in the lives of our city, in the lives of our nation, all of that, in order for God to be glorified in the earth.
00:08:24 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And so that was a wonderful application of what we were learning. I think the scripture that you had chosen, one of the scriptures that you had chosen, second chronicles 714, was such a blessing because it reminds us that we are the people of God and and he teaches, even though it's old.
00:08:38 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah.
00:08:44 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Estimate we know that.
00:08:46 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
The Old Testament is our example, our schoolmaster, so we can learn from the Old Testament. And God said my if my people, if my people, you know, call by my name. Yes, give us what we have to do. We have to humble ourselves. He can hear. We can. He will hear us from heaven.
00:08:49 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yes.
00:09:06 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But we have to do something. We have to humble ourselves. We have to seek his face. We have to turn from our wicked ways. And if we do those things that he set out as.
00:09:19 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
He said. Then will I hear from heaven and I'll heal the land. So some of us are very concerned right now about our land in the United States of America. And we have lost sight of the fact that we can pray and sometimes we don't know what to pray for.
00:09:23 Rev. Michele Owes:
Right.
00:09:40 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But if we pray in line with the will of God, and if we will humble ourselves.
00:09:46 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Pray, seek his face. You know, turn from our wicked ways. God will hear us now. He might not answer the way we think.
00:09:56 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
That we want the answer. What that we want the answer to be.
00:10:02 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But God will use every situation that we go through to his glory, and the results will be what God wants, whether we thought it was going to come that way or not. You know, we might be, you know, wipe them out. Lord stamp them out. And that's not the will of God.
00:10:17 Rev. Michele Owes:
Amen.
00:10:20 Rev. Michele Owes:
Right.
00:10:23 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But God will give Will God will take the foolishness of man and found the wise. And so we have to pray in line with the word of God and.
00:10:23 Rev. Michele Owes:
Not anywhere.
00:10:29 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yes.
00:10:35 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And just believe that God hasn't forgotten us. He is not forsaken us, but we sometimes forsake him because we try to get God to do things exactly the way our little puny minds think that they ought to be done, and we're are.
00:10:54 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah.
00:10:55 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
The word of God says it our for our thoughts are far from is as E is from West and East and West.
00:11:00 Rev. Michele Owes:
That's right.
00:11:02 Rev. Michele Owes:
That's right.
00:11:04 Rev. Michele Owes:
Never touch North and South will touch, but east and West never, ever touch. That's a lot. That's a long distance, right. That is really far away. And you know what's so interesting about that is, is we know the scripture that say, oh, we've heard that our thoughts are not his thoughts and and our ways are not his ways.
00:11:23 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
We.
00:11:25 Rev. Michele Owes:
But we can really feel that we are right.
00:11:28 Rev. Michele Owes:
And not pause for a moment and say, wait, this is my thought and I am so convinced it's mine. But according to Scripture, it's probably so far from God, you know, or this is my way. This is how I want to handle this thing. But according to Scripture, it's probably so far from how God wants to handle this and just pause. One of the things.
00:11:48 Rev. Michele Owes:
You talked about in that second Chronicles 7 and 14 was the first word was if, if and that is conditional, that means the decision has to be made by the people.
00:11:56
Which?
00:12:01 Rev. Michele Owes:
You know, if we're going to be as people and then we have to come to the conclusion I am the people that's called by his name, that is me. I'm not trying to do anything else. I'm not looking for another option other than being a Christian, a child of the most high God, a joint heir with Christ Jesus. I don't want to be identified with.
00:12:20 Rev. Michele Owes:
Group. This is my tribe. This is my nation and these are my people. I am Christian and and I'm called by the name of the Lord. I didn't when he called, I didn't skip it. I didn't. I didn't press go to message or voicemail. I answered and I accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord. Until now.
00:12:42 Rev. Michele Owes:
There's a responsibility to live the decision that I made as a Christ, like 1 humbling ourselves. I think one of the key things to humbling ourselves.
00:12:55 Rev. Michele Owes:
Is to recognizing that we didn't create ourselves. We don't have a purpose and a plan for ourselves. I mean, we can set some goals.
00:13:05 Rev. Michele Owes:
But this world was here when we got here. It will be here when we're gone. And so the contributions that God allows us to make.
00:13:16 Rev. Michele Owes:
They they came from him because all wisdom comes from God. All knowledge comes from God, and yet we can, if we're not careful, think we know more than God, that we can make our own choices. And one of the things that we I remember was.
00:13:29 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And yet.
00:13:36 Rev. Michele Owes:
Sharing the story of David.
00:13:38 Rev. Michele Owes:
And that David's being a man after God's own heart. The scriptures say that before David went to battle, he always inquired of the Lord and and asked God, should I do this thing? Shall I? And you know, we have become faulty fixers.
00:13:59 Rev. Michele Owes:
Because we do it and then ask God to bless it and try to make it work out. So we move before we get the response.
00:14:09 Rev. Michele Owes:
But David didn't move until God told him, and sometimes even in the middle of battle, he would still be asking God, would you want me to do this? Shall I do this, or shall I do that? I'm inquiring of the Lord and you know God would give him instructions along the way and to inquire first can save us.
00:14:29 Rev. Michele Owes:
Time, energy and a whole lot of money cause I'm saying I'm telling you that fixing behind the scene, that's expensive.
00:14:39 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Save us a lot of heartbreak and a lot of emotional failure.
00:14:44 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yes.
00:14:46 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Our expectations because we have undue expectations, we expect God to hear us and answer us whether we've obeyed him or not. And we fail to realize that without God, we can do nothing.
00:15:00 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And apart from God, we are nothing.
00:15:01 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah.
00:15:04 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
You know.
00:15:07 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
But we continue to think that we can do it, we can do it, we can, we can name it, claim it possess, confess it, possess it. I mean, really. How dare I think that we, little peons, can think something and want something and think that God's going to do it?
00:15:25 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Just because we prayed it and we believe it and we, we're looking to receive it, keep on looking here. That's right. That's right. I I it's.
00:15:38 Rev. Michele Owes:
I love the fact that David inquired of the Lord. I'm. I'm gonna just go. I'm gonna say before he got too involved with Batsheva.
00:15:53 Rev. Michele Owes:
But but.
00:15:55 Rev. Michele Owes:
The scripture also tells us that the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his way, which means that to be ordered.
00:16:08 Rev. Michele Owes:
That's something for him to follow. The order came first and then he followed. The instructions came first, and then he follows. And so God is delighted when we obey his instructions.
00:16:22 Rev. Michele Owes:
And we learned that in our prayer life. If we are not.
00:16:28 Rev. Michele Owes:
Humbling ourselves.
00:16:30 Rev. Michele Owes:
In seeking the face of the Lord and hearing from him, not just giving God our To Do List.
00:16:38 Rev. Michele Owes:
As though you know we're his boss, right?
00:16:43 Rev. Michele Owes:
But waiting to get the instructions from the Lord.
00:16:48 Rev. Michele Owes:
That he so desires to give us so that he can be glorified in the.
00:16:53 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Earth and our our purpose.
00:16:58 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Our purpose in life.
00:17:00 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Is to further the plan of God. God's will in the Earth, not our wills. The scripture does not say I will be done. It says God's will be done in Earth and these earthen vessels as it is in heaven because the glory is his.
00:17:20 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
The Kingdom is his. The power is his, forever and ever. Amen. And not us, you know. So it's a shame how we have polluted and diluted the word of God.
00:17:35 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
To teach people to believe that they can receive by just confessing it and confessing it. I know so many young people, particularly who raised in the church and now they don't want any part of the church because they think that we were hypocrites and we probably were to teach.
00:17:43 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah. OK.
00:17:54 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
A message like that, that if you, whatever you confess, whatever you name you can get it. And that's ridiculous. God doesn't have to beckon to.
00:18:04 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Our look, every little woman will live with our purpose in life is to further the plan and the will of God and the Earth, not our own will and the Earth. And we, I think sometimes we lose sight of that and the transformative power of prayer kept us looking at God.
00:18:24 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And what God did for praying, and we really need to look to God. You know, what are we praying about?
00:18:24 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah.
00:18:32 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
OK, is.
00:18:33 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
In line with the will of God, is it going to the will of God in the Earth? Is it going to further the plan of God in the Earth? It's not about us, it's about us doing the will of God.
00:18:35 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah.
00:18:46 Rev. Michele Owes:
Right. Absolutely. Right. And I, I noticed that in our group that the prayers as each group began to share what they had learned from each other and the type of prayers were.
00:18:58 Rev. Michele Owes:
Things like God how can I show more of your character in this situation? How can I show more love and how can I demonstrate more joy in the earth? And how can I share your peace? And it was all about being who God has created us to be in the Earth, his representative.
00:19:16 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
M.
00:19:17 Rev. Michele Owes:
And knowing his character and being able to share it, one of my big high.
00:19:22 Rev. Michele Owes:
Lights was 37 seconds.
00:19:26 Rev. Michele Owes:
Oh yes, and 37 seconds. We all read together the prayer Jesus example of prayer out of Matthew chapter #6. Verses 9 through 13 and we read that together from the King James Version Bible.
00:19:41 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Uh-huh.
00:19:46 Rev. Michele Owes:
And from start to finish it took 37 seconds and so we proved to one another. For those of us who said, well, I didn't have time to pray this morning, I just couldn't stop.
00:19:51
Right.
00:19:58 Rev. Michele Owes:
But there are so few things that you can do under 60 seconds under one minute.
00:20:05 Rev. Michele Owes:
But you can pray a fool's bountiful prayer in 37 seconds, and that prayer includes the Lord's will being done in the Earth, not our will, but his will. And if we can align our heart and our mind.
00:20:25 Rev. Michele Owes:
For 37 seconds now, we're not saying it's the only prayer that we can pray. We're not saying that we stop at 37 seconds.
00:20:36 Rev. Michele Owes:
But I am saying that if Jesus left this prayer in the earth is an example that it is surely good enough for us to follow, and it is certainly contains the things that God would want to hear from his children. And so I'm going to share that now, Matthew, these six chapter.
00:20:57 Rev. Michele Owes:
Verses 9 through 13.
00:21:01 Rev. Michele Owes:
After this manner, therefore, pray ye, our father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day Our Daily Bread.
00:21:21 Rev. Michele Owes:
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever.
00:21:37 Rev. Michele Owes:
Ever. Amen. That was 37 seconds of power from beginning to end. We have time to.
00:21:46 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
With.
00:21:48 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Pray we do. And the thing about that prayer that we commonly call the Lord's Prayer.
00:21:55 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
We don't know what to pray as we but this where we'll tell you will lead you and guide you directly how to pray.
00:22:03 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
You can pray for your needs to be met. You can pray, you give him honor and glory. You can pray for his will to be done, and then you can end it. You know, giving him the glory and and the and recognizing that his is the Kingdom. His is the power. His is is the glory and it's forever.
00:22:23 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And ever he will not change. He does not change and this prayer will strengthen us. We can go into any manner.
00:22:33 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Any feel any concern? Any need just by using that prayer as an example and as a guideline? It's a complete outline to pray for everything we could think about in our lives that we need.
00:22:47 Rev. Michele Owes:
Amen. And the lettering in my Bible is read. Yes, this is Jesus himself telling us what to do.
00:22:57 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Yes, how to pray.
00:22:58 Rev. Michele Owes:
And no greater teacher, right? No greater teachers. That's right.
00:23:04 Rev. Michele Owes:
37 seconds is all that it takes. Line up our heart and line up our mind with the will of God and give God 37 seconds out of Matthew the 6th Chapter Verses 9 through 13. It is a beautiful prayer to teach your children your grandchildren.
00:23:24 Rev. Michele Owes:
And your grandchildren's children for generations and generations to come, so that they might learn the will of God during the process of this prayer.
00:23:34 Rev. Michele Owes:
That our whole being is for his will to be done, you know.
00:23:40 Rev. Michele Owes:
And we are the earthen vessels.
00:23:40 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
You know.
00:23:42 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Right. I would like to suggest to the listeners that you create an actual list of what you want to pray for. I have a list by my bed of the people that I've prayed for and just almost everybody on my list that I had been praying for had been healed, delivered from whatever it was that the particular thing that I was praying for, but.
00:24:02 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
I keep that list by my bed and as all the people ask me to pray for this person and that person, I add that person's.
00:24:09 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
To my list, and so every night I don't pray God and name Jesus heal and father heal him and take the disease away. No, I pray, father, I thank you that your will will be done in the life of this person. I thank you that if your will this person will be healed and most recently.
00:24:29 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
A lady was just devastated by a close relative.
00:24:33 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And I I prayed for God's will to to take, take the person home because it it was humanly impossible, would only have taken a transformative miracle of God to get this person up and about. And and I just pray that God would be merciful to the family and and and.
00:24:52 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Receive this person and then that the family will have peace in the midst of it. You know? So that list is by my bed and I use that as my guide because you know, you forget.
00:25:04 Rev. Michele Owes:
Yeah. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. And we'll say to people, I'll pray for you and then get busy in life and didn't pray for a soul. I like to say no. Let's do it right now.
00:25:14 Rev. Michele Owes:
Me still been talking to someone and I fail to pray before I hang up. I'll call right back and apologize and say I am so sorry. I spent all this time yapping on the phone with you and didn't do the one thing I know my Heavenly Father would have me to do, which is to pray with you and I know I can pray for.
00:25:32 Rev. Michele Owes:
People and we can do that as well. But you know if somebody says Will you pray with me for and I say yeah and then I hang up the phone and didn't but responsibility to do better. I'm calling back. Hey, I didn't do what I was supposed to do. Come on. Let's get her done right now. So I believe it's important.
00:25:52 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
You know, according to my son, he doesn't think he. He'll tell people if you don't want to be embarrassed by prayer, don't hang around my mother because he he tells the story about we were walking one day.
00:26:05 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
And he shared with me that an arcade was coming into our neighborhood. And I'm like, you gotta be kidding. And I laid hands on the building. I know you've heard the story, and the arcade never opened. So my son was like, don't say anything about prayer in the presence of my mother because she will lay hands.
00:26:25 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
On you right smack dab in the.
00:26:27 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Middle of the street.
00:26:30 Rev. Michele Owes:
Hey, we got to be bold, Christian. We got to be. The world will be bold in the middle of the street and in our faces. And we have to be even. Even the more as it relates to the will of our Heavenly Father, right.
00:26:43 Rev. Michele Owes:
Right.
00:26:43 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
Yes.
00:26:44 Rev. Michele Owes:
It's important. Well, Mrs. Cherry, this was beautiful. I think we have some more to share about the teachable women's retreat. And so we're going to do that on our next podcast. But right now, we're just going to say the next time we say retreat jump. You want to be there. This is more of the same. If I had to sum up how I believe the retreat.
00:27:06 Rev. Michele Owes:
Was I think it was like due from her.
00:27:10 Rev. Michele Owes:
It was like due from heaven. It fell so gently on us. There was no condemnation, but yet there was a strong urge and desire for us to change and to be better and to be women, that God could count on, to give him permission to operate in the earth and and to change the way that we pray that.
00:27:30 Rev. Michele Owes:
We can take on more of the character of God it for me it was beautiful from beginning to end. It was like dude.
00:27:40 Rev. Michele Owes:
In heaven.
00:27:41 Rev. Diana P. Cherry:
That's a good description. So all of us, we are renewed, we're refreshed and we're ready to go and do the will of God.
00:27:49 Rev. Michele Owes:
